Sophie Huang
Founder
Now at Harvard College (2030)
Founding SEEDS
Inspired by her younger sister, who is a part of the special needs community, Sophie Huang founded SEEDS in October of 2021, based in Montgomery County.
A first-hand witness to many inequities individuals with disabilities and their families face, Sophie established SEEDS to increase accessible and inclusive opportunities available in the community for them that can accommodate a variety of symptoms and needs.
Now, SEEDS has established five more independent chapters in Howard County, Maryland, Baltimore County, Maryland, Frederick County, Maryland, North Virginia and Minnesota.
Taking SEEDS vision and mission to Boston, Sophie is currently a freshman at Harvard College, balancing her pursuit towards a future career in neurology with her love for wushu and music.

Chloe is a senior at Walt Whitman High School and has been working with SEEDS students and families since 2022. She loves singing, musical theatre, and drama, and enjoys sharing her passion for music with SEEDS students and bringing joy to the children. As co-president, Chloe is excited to support SEEDS in new ways and help its community continue to grow.
James Huang

Drawn to SEEDS’ mission of empowering kids with disabilities, I joined in 2024 and now serve as Co-President. I founded an adaptive basketball program serving 10+ youth and earned the 2025–2026 Outstanding Volunteer Award. As a St. Andrew’s senior, I’m excited to partner with the Montgomery International Film Festival for an AAPI disability documentary and expand volunteer training.
Chloe Du

Hi! My name is Claire, and I am a junior at Poolesville High School. I am excited to help create a supportive and inclusive community where students feel welcomed, valued, and empowered to grow. In my free time, I enjoy watching movies, hiking, and spending time with friends.

Emily is a senior at Richard Montgomery High School, and she is excited to spread the impact of SEEDS! She is also an Director of Dance and has been dancing pre-professionally for 12 years. In her free time, she loves to travel with her friends, take naps, and tell jokes.
